I had the best SUNDAY FUNDAY putting together a Galentines Brunch hosted by Caitlin Houston, creator of life and style site, Caitlin Houston Blog and Claire Wiley, creator of life and style site, Home with the Wileys. It was a group of close blogger friends in Claire’s home, for a morning with the girls.
Planning and setting up these fine details is so much fun for me. So when Claire & Caitlin asked for my help, I couldnt have been more excited. Hope this gives you some ideas for your next celebration!
In Claire’s classic New England home we went with a more muted palette of pinks, rather than red; with a soft feminine theme. I wanted the space to feel chic, yet inviting and a little casual, even though most of us got very excited to dress up for the day. Subtle details like conversation candies in hurricane vases, valentines treats and blushing florals all set the scene. I am also a sucker for making a photo moment and brought in Jess from DeWitt Planning to install a floral wall and help me with adding in those girly Galentines touches.
You Had Me at Rosé! Nothing says Galentines Day more then the perfect Rosé Bar. With our floral wall as a back drop I selected my all time favorite Rosé, Côte des Roses. With floral notes of rose along with hints of grapefruit; Côte des Roses celebrates the Mediterranean lifestyle. Fresh juices and berries were available to make the perfect mimosa. I also added feminine details like the most perfect conversation heart cocktail napkins made by MonogramMary.
Also served was Côte des Roses Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Ballerine Sparkling Wine.
Sourcing from Juliska’s amazing collection, it wasn’t hard to piece together the soft feminine theme in the serveware as well. I brought in items from Juliska’s Berry & Thread Collection, my most cherished cork champagne bucket, bright & floral linen napkins and the most stunning traditional coupe glasses.
To make things easy on these busy moms we decided to use a local caterer for our brunch menu. Palmers Market has an amazing Gourmet-to-GO menu offering everything you’ll need to make your event easy and delicious! With no minimum order size and a huge selection of freshly prepared items; it was a no brainer. We were also able to customize some of their offerings with heart shaped designs. For the menu we served:
Greek Yogurt Parfaits
Heart Shaped Tea Sandwiches (Cucumber and Cream Cheese on White, Smoked Salmon & Dill on Pumpernickle, Turkey & Cheddar on Wheat)
Beet Deviled Eggs
Strawberry and Arugula Salad
Belgian Sugar Waffles with Strawberry Preserves
Chorizo, Potato and Egg Bakes
Chocolate Covered Strawberries
GIFTS & MUSIC
I’m obsessed with making a good playlist for all my events. Sometimes it’s just for set up and other times, it’s the background of a magical moment. I made the ultimate Spotify Playlist just for the occasion.
I also worked closely with Caitlin on all of the details for the gift bags. Every memorable event ends with a takeaway that reminds you of the fun you had. Each gift bag contained: Phlur Perfume, Raaka Chocolate, Earrings from Sea Marie Designs, Tub Tea by Anchors Away Supply Co, PinkJacket by ANR Cookies, Nail Polish from The Spa at Litchfield Hills, and a homemade bath bomb by Claire.
And of course, no event is complete without the perfect guest list! It was so amazing of Claire to open her home and both Claire & Cailtin to enlist me to pull their vision together. There is nothing more special than working with your friends on an event rooting in celebrating the amazing women in our lives!
A special Thank You to Kelly Peterson for capturing all the fun!
